Southern Institute of Technology (SIT) invites applications for a motivated and student‑focused Marketing / Management Tutor to join the Faculty of New Media, Arts, Business and Computing, based in Invercargill.
About the Role
This role plays a key part in delivering high‑quality teaching and learning in Marketing and Management programmes. Working collaboratively with the Head of School and programme teams, you will contribute to excellent student experiences through effective teaching practice, meaningful assessment, and ongoing programme development.
Responsibilities include planning and delivering engaging classes (including HyFlex delivery where required), developing learning materials, assessing student achievement, and participating in moderation processes. You will also support students through advice, feedback, and referral where appropriate, while contributing to administrative, quality assurance, and self‑assessment activities aligned with NZQA and SIT requirements.

You will be organised, adaptable, and confident in managing both teaching and associated administrative responsibilities. A commitment to maintaining vocational currency, professional development, and continuous improvement is essential.
Key Capabilities
- Effective teaching and facilitation skills in Marketing and/or Management disciplines
- Ability to plan, deliver, and assess learning in line with curriculum requirements
- Strong interpersonal and student‑support skills
- Sound administrative and record‑keeping capability
- Willingness to contribute to programme development, review, and promotional activities
Qualifications and Experience
- A relevant tertiary qualification in Marketing, Management, or a related field
- Teaching experience in a tertiary or adult‑learning environment is highly desirable
- Industry experience and current vocational knowledge are an advantage
- Assessment and moderation experience (or willingness to develop this capability)
