Southern Institute of Technology (SIT) is a nationally recognised provider of tertiary vocational education, offering qualifications from certificates through to postgraduate study. We are seeking a Sport & Exercise Tutor with knowledge in Human Nutrition to join our Health and Humanities faculty and contribute to high‑quality teaching and learner success.
About the Role
This position plays a key role in delivering Sport and Exercise programmes with a strong focus on Human Nutrition, ensuring an engaging, supportive, and effective learning environment for our ākonga. The role includes teaching, assessment, learner support, and contributing to programme development and moderation requirements. The position may involve off‑site learner support, therefore a full New Zealand driver’s licence is required.
About You
You are a motivated and learner‑focused educator with a passion for sport, exercise, and nutrition science. Ideally, you will have:
- A Bachelor’s degree or higher in Human Nutrition, Sport & Exercise Science, or a related discipline
- Teaching or training experience in a tertiary or vocational setting (preferred but not essential)
- Sound knowledge of sport and exercise nutrition principles
- Strong organisational and administrative skills
- A current full New Zealand driver’s licence
- An understanding of, or willingness to engage with, NZQA and moderation requirements
- A commitment to learner wellbeing, inclusion, and academic success
