STUDENT EMPLOYMENT SERVICES

As part of SIT’s student services, we offer free employment support to help students find their career path, or just part-time work. We help students perfect their CVs and tailor it to the job they apply for and offer other employment advice.

SIT employment support is available to current students and recent graduates.

From study to work: We help you into employment

How we can help?

SIT's Employment Officer can provide a variety of individualised assistance to help you confidently seek employment, including:

  • Help to determine your interests and abilities
  • Career, education and training advice
  • Job search strategies
  • Curriculum vitae (CV) preparation
  • Interview skills
  • Tailoring cover letters

You can find career information and useful employment tools at www.careers.govt.nz

We regularly run employment workshops for students during the year. At International orientation our employment officer will be introduced and provide essential tips and techniques for understanding the New Zealand job market.

Register your job interest and CV with Students Services to be considered for roles when businesses are seeking employees from SIT. Our team also regularly post current vacancies in the SIT Student Centre (B Block) Invercargill.

Volunteering at local organisations can be a great way for students to obtain local experience and references – as well as meeting new people and contributing to our local community. Volunteer opportunities are advertised on the board opposite the Employment Office (B-Block).
