DJ & ELECTRONIC MUSIC PRODUCTION TUTOR - MAINZ CHCH

PERMANENT 0.5 PROPORTIONAL POSITION 
(approx. 17 hours per week)

Southern Institute of Technology is currently looking to appoint an appropriately qualified and experienced person for the above position to join the teaching staff at SIT's MAINZ Christchurch Campus.

You will have a relevant qualification in DJ & Electronic Music, preferably at diploma level 5 or diploma in audio production. As a tutor, you will teach a range of programmes from Levels 2 to 4, ensuring quality academic delivery and service to our learners. You will have experience in DJ performances within the music and audio industry with strong networks and a positive reputation within the industry

While previous teaching experience would be an advantage, training is available in this area with academic staff being encouraged to undertake study towards the New Zealand Certificate in Adult Tertiary Teaching (level 5), offered through SIT.

TRANSITION APPLICATION SPECIALIST - INVERCARGILL CAMPUS

FULL TIME – TWO YEAR CONTRACT POSITION

SIT is currently looking for a Transition Application Specialist who will work with the Digital Leaning Project team and business users to ensure a high level of support and training.

The role provides training and support to staff on the use of the new technologies and courses in the digital Learning Project and will also be responsible for ensuring the smooth rollout of updated programme delivery via our Learning Management System.

To be successful in this role, you must have:

  • A qualification at tertiary level in Information Technology / Communications / Journalism / Project Management / Teaching or related fields.
  • Previous experience in support or training, ideally in education sector
  • A high level of digital literacy, great customer service and the ability to problem solve
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills with the ability to relate to a wide range of people, and excellent communication (oral and written) skills
  • Ability to work independently, prioritise, and meet deadlines.

FACILITIES PROJECT COORDINATOR - INVERCARGILL CAMPUS

FULL TIME -THREE YEARS CONTRACT POSITION

Southern Institute of Technology is an innovative and entrepreneurial institution and is Southland’s largest provider of tertiary vocational training with campuses in Invercargill, Gore, Christchurch and Queenstown which brings with it challenges to ensure that our environment is not only safe but also to a standard compatible with industry training requirements.  

Within the role as SIT’s Facilities Project Coordinator you will be expected to:

  • Work with a number of people, including architects, quantity surveyors and trades people as well as internal SIT staff
  • Project manage facility replacement, redevelopment and maintenance
  • Produce project maintenance and capital development plans
  • Manage health and safety for projects

The successful applicant will:

  • Hold a relevant construction trades qualification
  • Have experience and knowledge of new building construction as well as the redevelopment and maintenance of existing facilities
  • Have demonstrable skills in leading and managing building and facilities projects
  • Have excellent customer relationship and people management skills
  • Be able to follow policies and procedures to ensure fair and transparent processes for engaging contractors on SIT work
  • Be able to demonstrate an ability to analyse and report on financial data
  • Have the ability to manage several jobs at one time
  • Be innovative and proactive in seeking efficiencies

MECHANICAL OR CIVIL ENGINEERING TUTOR - INVERCARGILL CAMPUS

Southern Institute of Technology is seeking to appoint a suitably qualified Mechanical or Civil Engineer to teach on the Bachelor of Engineering Technology and NZ Diploma of Engineering programmes at our Invercargill Campus.

 

The successful applicant will hold a Mechanical or Civil Engineering degree or relevant post graduate qualification and have demonstratable industry experience.  A research background or a willingness to develop in a research field is advantageous. This is an exciting prospect for the right person to join our teaching team. An ability to teach across a broad range of subjects would be favorable.
