FULL -TIME MATERNITY LEAVE POSITION - 15 August 2020 – 15 August 2021

Southern Institute of Technology Limited is seeking to appoint a suitably qualified person for the above position to join our SIT2LRN team, reporting to the Academic Compliance Manager. The main aim of this position is to provide assistance with the development of courses from an IT perspective, which are engaging and supportive of an inclusive learning environment.

The successful applicant will hold a relevant postgraduate tertiary qualification. Preference will be given to applicants with experience in working with the learning management systems, designing and maintaining web-based content, SharePoint, folder management, and database management. Familiarity with IT structures and processes and sound organizational skills would be an added advantage. The successful applicant will be an effective communicator with proven flexibility in meeting the challenges.

Southern Institute of Technology Limited is currently seeking applications for either of the above positions within the Student Support Services Team, from counsellors or social workers with a current practising certificate and registration of NZCA. The successful applicant will at least have a degree qualification in counselling or social work. Preference will be given to those who have had previous experience in mental health, primary health care and occupational health care.

You will also have the ability to work autonomously, have a good level of computer literacy and show a strong commitment to working as part of a supportive multidisciplinary health team, must be self-motivated and have highly developed skills in assessment and diagnostic reasoning to succeed in this role. Demonstrable empathy with all ages and backgrounds is required as you will be working with a very diverse range of students and staff. The successful applicant will have excellent interpersonal and communication (verbal and written) skills with the ability to maintain relationships at all levels of the organisation, with clients, family/Whanau, and external organisations.

Southern Institute of Technology Limited is seeking applications from suitably qualified people to undertake the above part-time role. The successful applicant will hold a graduate qualification in an appropriate disability related field, preferably a Bachelor of Occupational Therapy, who is able to work autonomously, has a good level of computer literacy and shows a strong commitment to working as part of a support multidisciplinary student services team. The successful applicant will have experience working with people who have impairments across the spectrum of physical, mental health and learning disability. Consideration would be given to a recent graduate.

This is a part-time role which we envisage will be 25 – 30 hours per week worked over 5 days to ensure availability for our students.

We are looking for a person who can demonstrate awareness and empathy to students who have disabilities and as such must have excellent interpersonal and communication (verbal and written) skills with ability to maintain relationships at all levels of the organisation, with external organisations, the consumers and family/Whanau, along with other attributes eg sound judgement, common sense, and the ability to maintain confidentiality.
