COLLISION REPAIR TECHNICIAN - CHRISTCHURCH CAMPUS

PERMANENT PART TIME (approx. 14 hours per week)

Southern Institute of Technology- Christchurch Campus is looking to appoint a suitably qualified person to support the work of tutorial staff by ensuring machinery/tools are in optimum condition and class materials are available when required, and assist in the removal, replacement, and repair of major components of vehicles.

Major Responsibilities:

  • Prepare workshop and teaching materials
  • Maintain work area appearance and safety
  • Other projects and tasks as assigned by supervisor

Qualifications:

  • At least 10 years of related experience would be an advantage
  • Trade Qualification in Collision repair or Automotive Refinishing
  • Working knowledge of tools of trade (including welding equipment, paint equipment, shop machines, and power tools) required

The successful applicant will be an energetic, enthusiastic and diligent person able to organise their time effectively while having the ability to use initiative when required and be able to work unsupervised.

MULTI MEDIA TECHNICIAN - INVERCARGILL CAMPUS

PERMANENT FULL TIME POSITION x 2

The Southern Institute of Technology’s Invercargill campus produces a wide range of educational and commercial footage for both internal and external customers. We currently have two full-time positions for Multimedia Technicians to take responsibility for and have input into the production and post-production of recorded material.

 

We are seeking applications from suitably qualified persons that hold appropriate tertiary qualifications either at certificate or diploma level and preferably in the field of Film and/or Animation. A degree level qualification will be desirable. Experience in HD wide screen filming, post production editing, sequence construction, including, video production, video editing and audio production is required.

 

The position holder will be responsible for

  • filming and editing innovative videos to promote business products to existing and potential customers
  • assist SIT Production Unit team in creating scripts, shot lists and creative vision of videos and photo shoots
  • assemble raw material into a finished product to meet objectives.

To be successful applicants must be able to demonstrate knowledge/experience of working in a multicultural environment with sound communication and interpersonal skills and the ability to achieve goals, showing flexibility and adaptability in the work place. The ability to work in a team environment is critical to this role.
