AUCKLAND CAMPUS MANAGER

Southern Institute of Technology is seeking applications for the above position, located at our Victoria Street West Auckland Campus.

This full-time position, which reports to a Senior Manager based in Invercargill, is ideally suited to a person with at least an undergraduate degree, preferably Masters, with experience in tertiary education compliance and management and operational management as you will have overall responsibility for the day-to-day operations of the campus.

Relationships with local schools, industry, staff and students are integral to this role as a key function will be marketing the campus.  The successful applicant will be diplomatic, positive and empathetic and have the ability to trouble shoot and problem solve. Sound communication and interpersonal skills are necessary, as are strong leadership abilities, self-motivation, vision, attention to detail and a desire to be part of conscientious and efficient teams within the disciplines of Music, Audio Production, Performing Arts and Business.

INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY TUTORS

Southern Institute of Technology is a well-recognised provider of tertiary vocational training, offering a comprehensive range of programmes that lead to formal qualifications. As well as the Bachelor of Information Technology we offer several postgraduate, diploma, certificate and master level programmes. We are currently looking to appoint two appropriately qualified and experienced people to join our team on a full-time basis.

Ideally we are seeking applications from people who hold a postgraduate qualification preferably at Doctorate or Master’s level in an IT/Computer Science related area and who have industry experience.

Subject areas for the positions are:

 

  • Database Design, Database Administration (SQL or Oracle), Object Oriented Database (Jade), Data Management, and Software Engineering

 

  • Computer Networking, Cisco routing and switching concepts (CCNA), Information Security/Cybersecurity, Network Administration, Programming Application Development (Mobile and Gaming), Web Technology

 

Preference will be given to those who have experience in the New Zealand tertiary education sector with experience in research supervision. Above all, we are looking for good communicators with a strong aspiration to work with a motivated and committed group of students and staff.

FINANCE OFFICER - ACCOUNTS RECEIVABLE

Southern Institute of Technology is seeking applications from appropriately qualified and experienced people to fill the above full-time permanent vacancy which has responsibility for total accounts receivable function, including generating invoices, collection and allocation of payments, managing monthly aged accounts receivable as well as preparation of bank deposits and processing orders.

We are looking for a person with knowledge of an accounts receivable role with at least two years’ working experience dealing with monthly account preparations. A working knowledge of SUN, Ipos, PayGlobal and/or Xero would be advantageous. This position provides back-up to the Payroll Officer.

Support staff play a significant part in the functioning of our institution and as such we are wanting to appoint people with above average Excel skills, who are able to work with a high level of autonomy and be well organised. Attention to detail is a key part of both roles.

Southern Institute of Technology is looking for an experienced person who can show flexibility and adaptability to fill the above full-time permanent position within the Administration Team, located at the Don Street Campus. The successful applicant must have a “can do” attitude and be prepared to undertake a diverse range of duties. Sound knowledge of computer applications and databases is required as data entry into SIT’s student management system is a large part of this role where attention to detail is paramount. Another key requirement for success in this role is excellent communication skills as there is considerable contact with our students who study via distance education.
