PRINTERY ASSISTANT

Southern Institute of Technology is looking for a reliable and resourceful person to fill the above vacant position. As our print room operates modern devices comparable to a commercial printing operation, we are looking for a person with above average computer knowledge and skills with the ability to problem solve technological issues as they arise.

This is a demanding role and experience of working in a customer service focused environment is desirable. You will need to be a team player, with proven organisational skills and a confident communicator, possessing excellent interpersonal skills.

While this position is 22.5 hours per week, preference will be given to those who can show flexibility to increase these hours during peak times and periods of leave of other staff.

ACADEMIC ADMINISTRATOR

LIMITED TENURE

SIT is currently looking to appoint an experienced Administrator to cover a parental leave position from September 2018 to February 2019.

This role is responsible for but not limited to:

  1. Providing general support and assistance to lecturers for academic activities including course materials, exam papers, faculty calendar and student files
  2. Arranging meetings and taking minutes
  3. Answering student queries and guiding them with due sensitivity and confidentiality to appropriate services and resources
  4. Recording the academic results efficiently and assisting with graduations

Special skills

We are seeking an enthusiastic, motivated and proactive candidate, who will have:

Excellent planning and organisational skills; ability to multi-task and manage deadlines; attention to detail and accuracy; strong analytical and problem solving skills; excellent communication skills; excellent interpersonal skills; strong judgement; strong financial management skills; ability to develop, organise and accomplish goals; ability to work under pressure.

The position requires a Certificate in Business and previous administration experience in an education environment is desirable.

PERSONAL ASSISTANT / DIRECTORATE RECEPTIONIST

Southern Institute of Technology has a vacancy for a suitably qualified administrator to undertake the above role within the Directorate area.

 

Support staff play an important role in the functioning of SIT and this key position provides administrative support and assistance to the Chief Executive, with a high level of confidentiality being required.

 

It is envisaged that the successful applicant will have most, if not all, of the following attributes:

 

      Superior typing skills – at least 60 wpm

Familiarity and above average competence with the Microsoft suite of programmes, particularly Word and Excel

Knowledge and understanding of databases

• Excellent communication skills as the position requires liaison with staff and students

• Versatility and adaptability

• Effective organisational/time management skills

Research skills

 

The successful applicant must also have the ability to work unsupervised and be self motivated as the role necessitates working independently on occasions.
