Cleaning Staff

Southern Institute of Technology is seeking applications for two cleaning positions at our Christchurch Campus situated at Waterloo Road. The full-time position hours are 12 noon – 8.30 pm daily with a 30 minute dinner break and the part-time position hours are 6.00 am – 10.00 am for approximately 10 months of the year as this position would not be required during mid December – mid February due student breaks. Police vetting will be a requirement for both positions.

Previous cleaning experience would be an advantage as would an understanding of basic workplace safety concepts and procedures. To be successful it is expected that applicants will have a reasonable level of fitness, ability to work independently to a high standard, be a reliable self-starter who takes pride in their work. A friendly outgoing personality and a can do attitude will also be advantageous.

Music and Audio Tutor

Southern Institute of Technology is a well recognised provider of tertiary vocational training, offering a comprehensive range of programmes that lead to formal qualifications. SIT has a long history in the delivery of certificate, bachelor and graduate programmes in both Contemporary Music and Audio Production. Our programmes feature a high level of live performance, one-on-one tuition and audio production hands on classes.

We are currently looking to appoint an appropriately qualified and experienced person to join the teaching staff in the Faculty of New Media, Arts and Business. This is a full-time permanent position.

If you have strong experience in the professional audio and music industry or in a music educator role, can impart passion, have strong communication skills, hold (or are working toward) a suitable post graduate qualification and have a commitment to musicians and audio technicians of the future, then we want to hear from you.

While previous teaching experience would be an advantage, training is available with academic staff being required to undertake study towards the National Diploma of Adult Education and Training as part of their appointment.
