Diploma in Beauty Therapy

A high school work placement at a Beauty Salon led Emma Brenssell to study a Diploma in Beauty Therapy with SIT in Queenstown.

“Everyone I talked to recommended the course – my workmate did it and the one-year diploma appealed so much more to me,” said Emma.

The salon environment, smaller class size and practical, hands on nature of the course meant Emma was able to maximise her time while learning a wide range of beauty therapy treatments from skincare, massage, waxing, make up, epilation and more.

“I loved the little perks too – additional workshops run by industry professionals, our trip to a local day spa etc. You don’t feel like you’re studying all the time - you have fun as well.”

“The programme manager was really awesome - she was really helpful and you knew if you had a problem you could go to her. She explained stuff really well,” Emma said.

Weekly salons working on real clients gave Emma the right experience and knowledge she needed for when she started work at Buff Day Spa in Alexandra as a Beauty Therapist.

“When I started my job I slotted in really easily – the knowledge the course gave us was awesome and I was able to handle the different treatments the boss gave me to do.”

“If anyone is thinking of doing the course – do it! You will have so much fun!”
