Southern Institute of Technology (SIT) is seeking an Instructional Designer to join our eLearning Team at the Invercargill Campus on a permanent, full-time basis.
Key responsibilities include the development of engaging, learner-centred digital materials across in-person, online/distance, and blended programmes; and the provision of professional development opportunities for academic staff to support them with digital course design.
Qualifications & Experience Required

• A relevant qualification or equivalent experience in instructional design (or related fields such as training or education).
• Proven experience in course design and development, especially for technology-enhanced learning.
• Proven experience with the use of content authoring tools (e.g., Articulate), multimedia software and Learning Management System platforms to develop digital learning assets.
• An understanding of the importance of Te Ao Māori and the utilisation of Māori pedagogies when designing for learning.

Our ideal candidate will:

• Work collaboratively with academic staff and subject matter experts to create exceptional digital learning experiences.
• Have confidence using digital systems and collaboration tools (e.g. Microsoft Teams).
• Have strong written communication skills and attention to detail.
• Lead instructional design projects end-to-end from conception to evaluation.
• Have exceptional time-management skills to ensure that project milestones are met.
