Southern Institute of Technology Deputy CE Bharat Guha and SIT Graduate Diploma in Sport and Exercise students Nungshi and Tashi Malik recently attended the Kiwi Indian Hall of Fame three year anniversary. In attendance was the Right Honourable John Key and a host of other politicians and well known NZ business leaders.
The Malik twins, who are studying at SIT on a New Zealand India Sports Scholarship and have captured the imagination of two nations with their mountaineering accolades, spoke of their latest expedition to the North Pole along with their long list of other achievements such as conquering the world’s seven peaks including Mt Everest. Nungshi and Tashi were so popular they have been invited to speak at the upcoming foundation event.
SIT Deputy CE Bharat Guha said “ It was an amazing event of which I felt extremely proud to attend representing SIT. Nungshi and Tashi spoke outstandingly well and were a fantastic credit to SIT.”
