Southern Institute of Technology is seeking to appoint a suitably qualified person to teach Cookery and Hospitality courses students at our Invercargill Campus. This is an exciting opportunity to join our teaching team. The role will initially be part-time, with the potential to increase as student numbers grow.

 

Responsibilities will include as follows but are not limited to:

· Teaching - responsibility is taken for the management of teaching and learning.

· Student related Responsibility - Maintenance of positive relations with students, and provision of appropriate support.

· Administration - Completion of administrative requirements for programme operation.

· Personal and Professional development - Retaining vocational currency and developing tutorial skills

· Programme Development and Review - Contribution to the evaluation and further development of programmes.

 

About You

You are a passionate hospitality professional with substantial industry experience, ready to inspire and guide students in achieving their learning goals. Ideally, you will have:

· A minimum of a Certificate Qualification (Level 4 or equivalent).

· While previous teaching experience would be a distinct advantage, training is available in this area, with academic staff being required to undertake study towards the New Zealand Certificate in Adult Tertiary Teaching (Level 5) offered through SIT.
