To all new students WELCOME to the Christchurch SIT campus

Student Activities held recently

Touch Rugby: this turned into full on league tackles. No winners but some laughs, great skills & fun.

Basketball Challenge:  Winners were Super Fridgies & Electrical 2. Well done. Some random “spot prizes” were handed out and a sausage sizzle and a snow freeze icecream were enjoyed (eventually)

Staff update:

Sadly staff & students mourn the unexpected  loss of Kevin Whiston who was one of our Electrical tutors. Our thoughts and support go to his family and friends.

To all smokers, please please please DO NOT smoke beside any of the campus windows. Go down the driveway or outside the back gate behind the staff carpark. Don’t like standing in the rain?? = maybe its time to give up! See Lyn for Quitline info.

Parking - Watch this space!

There are plans to turn the grass area at the front of our campus into a carpark for our students to use. In the meantime please don’t park on the grass area beside the driveway. Thanks

From the Students Suggestion Boxes

  • Should have football every 2 wks
  • Put lights in parking area, feels unsafe. (update:lights are currently being installed)
  • Get a PS3

You can put your ideas on how to improve your campus, in the “suggestion boxes” located in the common room & at the main noticeboard.

Style File - to all the guys:

Did you know that you can buy hair products for men from the Hairdressing department at this campus =  see Jo (hairdressing tutor)

Vending Machines

If the machines eat your money & don’t give out any goodies please call the numbers posted on the wall beside the machines. Give your name & the course you are on & they will refund you directly next time the owners visit.
