Apprentices undertake the bulk of their training in the workplace with their employer and attend a number of block courses to help complete the theory assessed unit standards.

  • Building fundamentals
  • Health and Safety
  • Preliminary work
  • Support structures
  • Frame and structures
  • Exterior envelope
  • Interior lining and finishing

Costs are dependent on Fees-Free eligibility.

They will vary from $0 per year up to $575 per year. 

Graduates of this programme will have completed their carpentry apprenticeship and be considered trade qualified.

You must be employed in the construction industry with the intension of undertaking an apprenticeship and be eligible to gain funding for training (we will check this for you).

National Certificate in Carpentry (Level 4) 

For students to be considered to have satisfactorily completed this programme, and to be eligible for award of the qualification “National Certificate in Carpentry (Level 4)”, they must have:

  • Completed required practical and theoretical course work and assignments
  • Attended no less than 80% of the timetabled class hours and other scheduled learning activities
  • Shown competence in the programme modules, to a minimum of 294 credits
