This micro-credential is designed for individuals who want advanced practical training on using Geographic Information Systems, specifically the ArcGIS pro software. The training will be backed up by theoretical knowledge for understanding and applying what Geographic Information Systems are, its functionality and applications in a real-world Geographic Information Systems context. The course will include practical labs to familiarise individuals with using advanced level functions in Geographic Information Systems software.

  • Understanding overlays and buffers
  • Symbolizing categorical data
  • Symbolizing quantitative data
  • Labelling map features
  • Managing tables
  • Editing features and attributes
  • Creating geodatabases and feature classes
  • Add data into geodatabases
  • Edit GIS data
  • Align spatial data
  • The course includes a student subscription to the ArcGIS pro software, available for the duration of the semester.
  • Successful completion of a New Zealand Diploma (Level 5), or
  • Application by Academic Qualification.
