The National Diploma in Project Management (Level 5) recognises the skills and knowledge of a project manager. People awarded this qualification will have demonstrated that they have taken responsibility for managing projects, including managing the work of others within a project team. The qualification structure recognises the diversity of contexts to which project management competencies are applied.
This programme aims to provide students with the advanced business knowledge skills, and competence required for business operations, including planning, coordinating, supervisory and other business related roles. On achieving this qualification students will have the skills, knowledge and competence required to undertake a range of high level business activities and carry out a mix of specialised operations involving a degree of self directed work and supervision of processes and people. This diploma will build on your knowledge from the National Diploma in Business Level 5.
Please note: in 2011 the content of this qualification changes significantly. THIS version of the Diploma is for those students beginning their study in the Diploma in 2011. Students who began the National Diploma in Business (L6) prior to 2011 will have until the end of 2011 to finish the previous version.
The National Diploma in Adult Education and Training (Level 6) is designed for people responsible for management and leadership of adult education and training. The National Certificate in Project Management (Level 4) recognises the skills and knowledge of a project team member. Level 4 is for applicants that are working for a project manager and want to progress to be a project manager.People awarded this qualification will have demonstrated that they have contributed to the management of projects, including the management of a straightforward project or a section of a larger project and working with others in a project team. This certificate is unable to be studied full time as the NZQA assessment requires students to submit evidence that they are working on a project either assisted by a project manager or on their own.
The programme will allow students to gain skills and knowledge that are directly relevant to working or further training in the management sector, demonstrate knowledge and skills to standards recognised by the management sector as appropriate, and develop work habits and practice appropriate for further training and employment in the management sector. The flexible structure of the qualification enables individuals and organisations to select outcomes that meet the diverse roles and context required by a wide range of industries.
