Southern Institute of Technology is seeking to appoint a suitably qualified person to teach Civil Engineering on the Bachelor of Engineering Technology and NZ Diploma of Engineering programme at our Invercargill Campus.
The main aim of the role is to deliver lectures, classes, Labs, and Practical sessions, preparing teaching material, assessing and assisting with new programme developments at the bachelor's level that meet the outcomes of the programmes, and maintain a high-quality practice—actively seeking research opportunities.
The successful applicant will hold a Master of Engineering or equivalent qualification. Ph.D. in Engineering or working towards one will be desirable and have a background in research and outputs with at least ten years' relevant industry experience and /or academic experience in mechanical engineering design and /or consulting. This is an exciting prospect for the right person to join our teaching team.
While previous teaching experience would be a distinct advantage, training is available in this area, with academic staff being required to undertake study towards the New Zealand Certificate in Adult Tertiary Teaching (Level 5) offered through SIT.
