Permanent Full Time

Southern Institute of Technology is seeking applications from appropriately qualified and experienced people to fill the above full-time permanent vacancy which has responsibility for accounts payable function.

As an integral member of our finance function, you will play a key role in ensuring that supplier payments and purchasing processes run smoothly and that financial information is accurate and up to date.

Key Responsibilities

  • Enter and maintain data in the purchasing system accurately and promptly
  • Process invoices, credit notes, and payments within agreed timeframes
  • Reconcile supplier statements and investigate discrepancies
  • Manage supplier accounts and respond to queries professionally and efficiently
  • Support month-end processes and maintain financial records

About You

  • Essential: NCEA or equivalent qualification
  • Desirable: Tertiary-level qualification in Accounting or Finance
  • Accounts payable experience preferred but not essential – full training will be provided
  • Previous customer service experience, with the ability to communicate effectively with suppliers and internal stakeholders
  • Strong attention to detail and a high level of accuracy
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Strong time management and organisational skills, with the ability to meet deadlines
  • Ability to work autonomously as well as collaboratively within a team
