Southern Institute of Technology is a well-recognized provider of tertiary vocational training, offering a comprehensive range of programs that lead to formal qualifications. A permanent full-time position is available within our Faculty of Trades and Technology at our Invercargill campus to teach in the electrical engineering trades area. This is an exciting time to join SIT, as you will also be part of Te Pūkenga - a nationwide network that forms New Zealand’s largest tertiary provider.  

Who we are looking for 

You will need to be an EWRB registered electrician or a registered electrical inspector. Other engineering-based qualifications are desirable but not necessary, you will preferably bring with you at least five years’ experience in the electrical trade.

While previous teaching experience would be good, do not let this put you off from applying.  SIT will support you through the completion of an appropriate Adult Education Qualification.
