Originally hailing from Sri Lanka, Chami has numerous years’ experience in marketing and operations management at large corporations from around the globe, which bodes well in her role as SIT Marketing Manager. Chami oversees the Domestic marketing team, International marketing team and International administration team, ensuring that customer service and communications delivered to prospective and current students is a high standard.
Senior Marketing Officer / Maori Student Liaison

Our new Senior Marketing Officer/Maori Student Liaison, Jodi, has completed a Bachelor of Commerce with a major in Marketing and Management at SIT and is currently studying towards her Postgraduate in Applied Management. Once completed, Jodi is hoping to continue her studies with the Masters of Applied Management. One of the friendly faces within the Domestic Marketing team, Jodi is a born and bred Southlander of Maori and Irish descent. Having studied within the SIT environment, she is well placed to assist with any course inquiries or queries. She can help guide you in the right direction, discuss your options and let you know what to expect when it comes to life as a student, whether you have chosen to study on-campus or via distance.
Jodi also has a background in Governance from the Educational and Community-Led Development sectors, in addition to a Diploma in Te Ara Reo from Te Wananga O Aotearoa. She relates to all types of learners and having completed her studies as a mature student, can put you at ease, whether you are starting tertiary study straight out of high school, or juggling family and/or work commitments as well.

Laura McKenzie is our Marketing Officer dedicated as the secondary school liaison. Laura has a Bachelor of Arts in Communications and Sociology and is born and bred in Southland so is well equipped to help you with your tertiary pathway and settling into the Southland community. Laura visits schools and attends career expos across New Zealand to help high school students find the right SIT programme to kick start their future. Yasas is originally from Sri Lanka and studied the Post Graduate Diploma in Business Enterprise here at SIT. After completing a Bachelor of Science (Hons) in Business Management in Sri Lanka, he has been in the marketing and event management fields throughout his work life. As Marketing and Events Officer, Yasas organises events, secondary school Open Days, information evenings and a range of other exciting promotional activities and expos including Re-O week.
