We understand that selecting the right course can be difficult. SIT’s Liaison Team are happy to discuss your options with you and assist with your selection. They are available to speak with school groups, community groups and all other educational providers, as well as one-to-one appointments. They are also happy to show prospective students around SIT’s excellent facilities.

Originally hailing from Sri Lanka, Chami has numerous years’ experience in marketing and operations management at large corporations from around the globe, which bodes well in her role as SIT Marketing Manager. Chami oversees the Domestic marketing team, International marketing team and International administration team, ensuring that customer service and communications delivered to prospective and current students is a high standard.

Our new Assistant Student Liaison, Shelley is a born and bred Southlander, attending high school at Verdon College, before embarking on further study here at the Southern Institute of Technology (SIT). Shelley completed a Diploma in Business with a Leadership and Management strand, and recently joined SIT’s Domestic Marketing team. In addition to her business qualification, Shelley has experience in a fast-paced customer service role, working with a diverse range of cultures. She brings with her a highly professional manner and is enjoying working in the educational environment. Outside SIT, Shelley enjoys horse riding in the Summer and hitting the slopes on her snow board in the Winter. Yasas completed his Postgraduate Diploma here at SIT after completing a Bachelor of Science (Hons) in Business Management and a Diploma in Project Management. Yasas has an international experience working in many challenging roles and he organises wide range of events and expos for Domestic Marketing Department & for our international students here at SIT. Feel free to contact Yasas or walk into the Marketing Department at the main campus for any event planning assistance, volunteer opportunity or sponsorship requests.

SIT Admin, Invercargill Campus


Our friendly enrolments officers are located at the Enrolments desk, on the left as you enter the main Admin building. They can help you with:

  • Your completed enrolment forms
  • Enquiries about about your enrolment status
  • How to pay your course Fees
  • Your completed enrolment contracts
  • Payment for international student accommodation fees, course fees, postage etc
  • Subsidy forms for WINZ and childcare
  • Changing your address
  • Verifying your photographic identification
  • Loading print credits to your student ID card



Our helpful reception team are located at the Reception desk, which is straight ahead as you enter the Admin building, and they can assist with:

  • Lost/Found Property
  • Campus Maps
  • Invercargill Street Maps
  • Paper for printing needs
  • Student Diaries
  • Emergency phone calls for landline calls within Invercargill only - Staff permission is essential
  • Date stamps for items to go on the campus noticeboards. All items MUST be date stamped
  • General enquiries

At the right of the admin building is Course Enquiries, where our liaison officers can help you with all course advice, and you can also:

  • Get enrolment forms for all campuses and SIT2LRN
  • Pick up prospectus booklets
  • Enquire about any of our courses
  • Grab Studylink or information
  • Enquire about scholarships
  • Receive accommodation information and advice
  • Enquire about scholarships
  • Talk with our Pacific Island or Māori Liaison officers
  • Enquire about the weekly bus trips that alternate between Dunedin and Queenstown (all registrations are taken at the SIT Bookshop located at Student Services)
