Tertiary Chaplaincy in Southland is an independent service provided by the Southland Tertiary Chaplaincy Charitable Trust Board. Chaplaincy is offered to the staff and students.; It is accessible, impartial and confidential.
Pastoral and spiritual care is offered; without prejudice to culture or belief.
Pastoral care
Means to listen and assist a person to be faithful to their values, respectful of the individual and deals with issues presented by the individual.
Spiritual care
At the tertiary level of study responds to issues which question the meaning of life and at times the moral values which one holds sacred or of great importance.
The goal is to listen and to assist the individual to deal with the challenges they face.
The Chaplain
The Chaplian has the time and the interest to share with students their issues whether they be challenging, whether they are in times of stress or great celebration.
Everybody is Somebody
The Chaplain visits all areas of the campus, in the cafe, outside or in the Glass office on the main campus in the Information Technology building I-101.
