All courses approved for international students are accredited with the New Zealand Qualifications Authority. This ensures each course maintains a consistent and high national standard.

When enrolling in a Degree, Diploma or Certificate programme, please also supply the following documentation:
- A copy of a recent IELTS, TOEFL or equivalent English proficiency test result.
- A certified English transcript of your academic records, and/or
- Details of relevant work experience.
- A letter in English telling us why you wish to study your chosen programme.
- A portfolio of work (if required).

You may fax or email your enrolment form, then send the original and photo by airmail.
- If your enrolment is successful, we will send you an offer of place and invoice for the programme.
- Proceed by transferring your fees as stated on the invoice to the Southern Institute of Technology. As soon as your fees arrive, we will courier a receipt back to you. You will require this receipt along with the Offer of Place, to obtain your Student Visa. - Applications for a Student Visa should be sent to your nearest New Zealand Immigration office, which can be located through the following link, www.immigration.govt.nz. Please remember to enclose your offer of place and receipt with your application.
If you do not want us to organise your accommodation, you will be required to organise your own guarantee of accommodation.
- Inform us of your travel details to us as soon as possible, so that we may confirm your accommodation arrangements and send you a Welcome Pack including maps. On arrival to Invercargill and International Department staff member will meet you and take you to your accommodation – there is no charge for this service.
English Language Application Criteria
All students must be over the age of 18 years.
English language requirement is normally assessed by the following internationally recognised tests – IELTS and TOEFL.
