A group of SIT Bachelor of Digital Media students have won again - this time their film picked up the top prize at the Dunedin regional finals of the Rocket Film Festival.

Flim Flom Films submitted their film Do the Knight Thang which had also won them the Dunedin regional final for the V48 Hour Film Festival and saw some members attend the Auckland finals. This time the film won Best Overall Film in in the open category out of four finalists, with a member also receiving the Rocket People’s Choice Award and a second prize for the Script Writing competition.

The Rocket Film Festival originates from Southland and has slowly increased in size, this year seeing a growth in entrants from surrounding areas.

Flim Flom Films member Jonathan Baker says the film was modified slightly to enter into the contest.  “It’s basically the same film, with extended credits.”  The film is fantasy adventure comedy following two knights who annoy a witch and are sent forward to the present day.

“We would like to thank SIT and our tutors, particularly Andy Mosse and Karl Hart.”

The film has received further recognition, being played before the premiere of the Two Little Boys movie in Gore’s SBS St James theatre on 20th September.
