• SIT's Bachelor of Therapeutic and Sports Massage is the first named massage degree programme to be approved in New Zealand. It has been taught since 2002.

With massage therapies experiencing increasing popularity world wide, the Southern Institute of Technology offers a certificate in massage therapy. The certificate programme is designed to provide skills and theoretical knowledge particularly for relaxation and basic sports massage.
This programme recognises the core knowledge and skills required to work as an assistant in professional practice in massage, and qualifies students to enter the Bachelor of Therapeutic and Sports Massage.
