Graduates will function competently as autonomous homebased practitioners of childcare, education and family support This involves an understanding of the social, emotional, cultural, cognitive, spiritual, psychological and physical dimensions as they relate to the family unit. As a community service, nannying is based on principles of early childhood education, health promotion and primary health care, and consists of a partnership between the nanny and the family.
30 weeks full time
This programme provides sound foundation knowledge, skills and awareness for working with children and young people with special needs. This is highly relevant for people who are interested in working as teacher aides and in supportive and care giving roles for children and young people.
