This programme aims to provide participants who complete the qualification with the skills and knowledge required to operate as capable technicians in the construction industry. These skills include: establishing a design brief, presenting preliminary designs, developing building concepts and preparing working drawings. The programme also aims to develop skills applicable to the wider construction industry, including health and safety plans, quality assurance and construction methodologies.

Our Beginners AutoCAD night course covers:

  • creating and plotting 2 dimensional drawings using a variety of draw and modify commands.
  • creating new drawings using layers text, dimensions and blocks ie. creating and inserting.
  • use of model space and paper space for plotting.

Duration:

Two years full time

Location: Invercargill

This programme aims to provide participants with an understanding of other disciplines within the construction industry with a focus predominately on the quantity surveying fields.  It is hoped that this wider knowledge will be transferable within the wider construction industry promoting greater understanding between sectors and allow individuals greater career flexibility.  The skills include establishing a design brief, preparing working drawings, understanding the context of working drawings, research and pricing of construction and associated work, and communicating with persons within the wider construction industry.
