If English is not your first language, this course will give you the skills and knowledge to communicate in the English language through reading, writing, speaking and listening at a pre-intermediate level.
Graduates of this programme will:

Understand sentences and frequently used expressions related to areas of most immediate relevance e.g. very basic personal and family information, shopping, local geography, employment

Communicate in simple and routine tasks requiring a simple and direct exchange of information on familiar and routine matters.

Describe in simple terms aspects of his/her background, immediate environment and matters in areas of immediate need.

Application Criteria
All applicants must have achieved the school leaving age. Students must have the Certificate in Intensive English Language 2 / Cambridge Movers/Flyers or Placement Test or equivalent qualification and skills.
Satisfactory Completion
For students to be considered to have satisfactorily completed this programme, and be eligible for award of the qualification ‘Certificate in Vocational English Language (Pre-Intermediate)' they must have: Attended for not less than 80% of the timetabled class hours and other scheduled learning activities relating to the programme. Completed all scheduled course work requirements and assessments. Successfully completed assessment requirements for the module, and achieved a total of 60 credits.
