Course Outline

This programme aims to provide people with education in the art of making and serving coffee. Ideal for the ‘home’ Barista, or a great introduction for those looking to explore the coffee industry.

Course Content

Demonstrate knowledge of coffee equipment and drinks.  Successful students will receive a SIT Certificate of Attendance.

Cost: $115.00. The Zero Fees Scheme does not apply to this programme.

Career Opportunities

New Zealand's hospitality and tourism services industry has experienced significant growth in the last decade and the trend appears set to continue.

Career opportunities include working in cafes, coffee shops, bistros and taverns, or wherever good coffee is served.

Application Criteria

Academic and personal attributes to undertake the programme with a reasonable chance of success. A high level of personal presentation.

Work ethic required for employment in the hospitality industry. Minimum of three years secondary education. Mature students over 20 years of age at commencement of programme are welcome.
