The programme aims to produce students who demonstrate capability in art and craft skills, understanding of art and craft knowledge and applications of techniques to a range of applied arts and crafts practices.

Application Criteria

  • Basic competence in spoken and written English.
  • Academic and personal attributes that demonstrate the student will undertake the programme with a reasonable chance of success.
  • An aptitude for, and interest in applied arts and crafts as a realistic career choice or personal development.
  • Referees: You will need to provide contact details for two people who know you well e.g. teacher or employer.
  • Interview: A time will be arranged for you to meet with the programme manager or appropriate staff member following the assessment of your application.
  • Passion and commitment: We are looking for students who have a passion for the visual arts and are committed to furthering their conceptual, aesthetic and technical skills.

Satisfactory Completion

For students to be considered to have satisfactorily completed this programme, and be eligible for award of the qualification Certificate in Foundation Art and Craft, they must have: Attended 80% of the scheduled classes relating to this programme. Achieved a C grade in all modules relating to the programme.
