Course Outline

This programme in business administration will provide students with the skills and knowledge that are directly relevant to working or further training in the business sector. The programme covers computer applications - Powerpoint, Word, Access, Excel, desktop publishing, health and safety, communications, reception, and administrative systems.

 

This programme will provide students with the required knowledge in business administration and computing to progress to the National Certificate in Business Administration (Level 4) or further related study.  

The training in this programme is nationally and locally relevant and is taught in an environment which reflects workplace practices.  A component of the programme is taught in a simulated office.

Career Opportunities

The National Certificate in Business Administration and Computing (Level 3) has been designed as a broad qualification to give you intermediate level skills, knowledge and competency required by the industry. Graduates will be qualified to enter a variety of occupations in office management, secretarial, word processing, computing and clerical positions.

Application Criteria

  • The major criterion for entry is that the applicant will have a reasonable chance of success.
  • 16 years of age or over. Mature students are welcome to apply.

Satisfactory Completion

For students to be considered to have satisfactorily completed this programme and be eligible for the award of the qualification National Certificate in Business Administration and Computing (Level 3) they must have: Attended for not less than 80% of the timetabled class hours and other scheduled learning activities relating to the programme.  Completed all scheduled course work requirements and assessments.  Successfully completed assessment requirements for all modules/unit standards.
